Talking SportsBiz on the 15th episode of the Sportego Podcast, we spoke with Daniel McGeachie, the man in charge of CRM, Fan Engagement and Digital Marketing at Bradford City. We discuss what Fan Engagement means, as well as how Bradford have refocused their off the field efforts under their German owners. In addition, we bring you details of next month’s Fan Engagement Conference in Dublin’s Aviva Stadium. For more information on that, check out www.sportego.ie/fecdublin or follow us on twitter @WeAreSportego.
Daniel’s experience at Bradford is one which will be familiar to many who work in sporting organisations in the UK and Ireland. Part of a small team, every person is expected to “wear many different hats” and be proficient in each. As you will hear on the show, while that obviously increases workload and responsibility, it does allow for easier liaison between the related but separate operational segments of the team such as ticketing and fan engagement.
Key Insight: At this years Fan Engagement Conference in Dublin, Daniel will feature on a panel entitled “Is OTT the future of sport viewing consumption?”. Alongside him on a panel chaired by Sportego’s Colm Ó Méalóid will be Vishnu Kumar. the Head of Digital at Caribbean Premier League, Marcus O’Buachalla, Head of Communication at Leinster Rugby, and Paul Morgan the Head of Communication at Aviva Rugby. In this episode, you can get for that discussion, but for the main course make sure you buy your ticket for a panel which alone would be worth the admission price.
