Social Media Award Ceremony 2018

Social media is the primary communication point between sporting organisations and their current – and potential – fans. As such, making the most of that connection is of critical importance. While social media is primarily about communication, by maximising reach and resonating with fans, revenue opportunities follows through sponsorship and sales.

At Sportego, we are big exponents of the power of social media, and the importance to organisations of understanding their following; who they are, what they like and of course what they don’t like. In addition to providing organisation specific social analysis to a number of client bodies, we also compile a monthly report on Irish sport as a whole, published in Sport for Business. You can check out the latest of those reports here.

At this month’s conference, we will again be awarding the Irish sporting body which has created the best experience on social media this year, in terms of content, entertainment and interaction. At last year’s event in the beautiful surrounds of Rothe House, Kilkenny the deserving winners were the Football Association of Ireland, for their their tremendous efforts online. Will the FAI retain the title of Ireland’s Best, or will there be a new name on the trophy this year?!

Only the top 5 organisations from our nomination list will go forward to the 3 person judging panel, so cast your vote via the poll below to make sure your favourite makes the cut. The very best of luck to all involved, and we look forward to seeing you all in the Aviva Stadium on the 28th.

I don’t see the Golfing Union of Ireland nor Irish Ladies Golfing Union? Any reason why they are not included. Just curious.
